Hardware is the Foundation
I perform the bulk of my daily work on a 27-inch iMac with a Retina 5K display running macOS High Sierra, augmented with a Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse 2. Frequently, I check how my websites are shaping up on a 12-inch MacBook also with a Retina display.
For mobile development as well as daily use, I keep my iPad mini, iPhone 12 mini and Kindle Paperwhite on hand. Out of this mix, the iPhone 12 mini owns a place of prominence.
All my websites, existing and in development, are powered by WordPress and currently reside with SiteGround.
Software is the Vehicle
Most of my writing these days takes place in Scrivener, a great authoring platform for spitting out books and shorter works in the appropriate publishing format. Publisher Rocket helps me research and select the best Kindle keywords and improve rankings to increase my book’s discoverability. Apple Pages fills in the cracks for miscellaneous document creation, while Luminar and Affinity Photo head up my graphic arsenal.
Using Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers to view my creations ensure everyone can see and access my sites as designed. I handle routine tasks associated with all my endeavors via Apple Mail for email correspondence, Paste for increased clipboard efficiency, Evernote to track a multitude of assorted details and 1Password to manage passwords and software licenses. Other apps are employed as well, but these cover the majority of my day’s workload.
Design is the Key
First impressions are critical. That’s why significant time and resources were invested in the creation of the visuals for Discovering Love Online: Love May Be Closer Than You Think and this companion website. The same holds true for its publisher, Propeller Cap, LLC. Of course, as you would assume, all graphics associated with Discovering Love Online and Propeller Cap, in all their permutations, are licensed and copyrighted. Use and reproduction of these graphics are by permission only. Thanks!
